Off to Busan I Go…

Posted on December 31, 2011December 29, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Off to Busan I Go…

By the time you read this, I should be in Incheon International Airport welcoming 2012. I’ll be waiting for my flight the next morning by taking the train from there to Gimpo International Airport to fly to Busan.

I went to the airport at about 5am in the morning to fly to Singapore and then to Seoul.

I’ve been trying to learn a bit of Korean last few weeks but still can’t get the hang of it ;p It’s not easy to learn new language when you gets older hehehe… As if I’m so old. It’s hard to remember all those characters. My brain is saturated.

I’ll leave Busan on 22/1/2012, then fly from Seoul to Singapore on 23/1/2012 and only arrive Adelaide on 24/1/2012, the second day of CNY. Spending all the new year’s eves in the airport. What an experience.

By the way, anyone in SG who will be free btw 3pm-10pm on 23/1/2011? Such loooong transit… I’ll be bored and it’s the 1st day of CNY.

Update might be a bit slow starting from now since my classes are quite intensive. However, this will be the only time I enjoy being a fulltime student after so many years, no work to worry about, 100% studying and playing. Gonna shop, shop, shop, and shop.

Enjoy the last day of 2011 peeps!

Christmas BBQ 2011

Posted on December 30, 2011December 29, 2011 By sweet surrender 2 Comments on Christmas BBQ 2011

BBQ the next day again! So much food these two days.

This time, the BBQ was organized by friends from church at their house. I went there feeling sleepy. After ate the first round, I took a nap hahaha… Then continued eating again.

It’s different from Christmas eve’s BBQ, it was so cold that day. We only started in the evening. Brrr… Freezing! We had steamboat too. Called it a night at about 11pm+ I was extremely tired, soooo sleepy. Had not been sleeping well the past few days.

Was invited to hike Mt. Lofty the next day but I rejected it as I wanted to sleep in. I really slept in and only woke up at almost 12pm ;p

Rejections after rejections

Posted on December 29, 2011 By sweet surrender 4 Comments on Rejections after rejections

WOW! Got rejected today! HAHAHAHA! Crazy girl! Got rejected yet still so happy.

Man… It took me months to find the courage you know… Finally I asked him out for coffee and he rejected me by giving me this respond, “I have a girlfriend, so if I have a coffee with you, she might get upset.” Oh dear! That is soooo embarassing.

I had missed out chances and chances, didn’t see him for more than 2 months, finally today he turned up at my workplace for lunch. Good thing it wasn’t a very busy day, so I got the chance to chat with him. It’s not easy to finally open my mouth to ask him for coffee tomorrow. I chatted with him, then when I wanted to ask him for coffee, I didn’t know how to say, so I excused myself to clean up the tables. After cleaning up, I went back to him and asked him about his plan for tomorrow, he said that he got no plan so I asked him whether he would like to join me for a coffee. That’s when I got rejected.

Oh well… It may not be real but just as an excuse to reject my invitation. Anyway, at least I asked. If in case it’s just an excuse, if he changes his mind, who knows… Then again, I won’t be seeing him or him seeing me until after CNY 2012. No big deal.

AWWW! My dream guy rejected me. EPIC FAIL! Always I’m the one rejecting people back home, now it’s my turn to get rejected, karma ;p Not the first time I got rejected here but being rejected by my dream guy, that is sure something to remember, the whole process was quite hilarious too, can’t help it but to laugh at myself when I thought of it.

When will I finally found my prince charming? Oh please come my way… Please, please, please… Never make any new year resolutions but next year I will have one, “Get into a REAL relationship with the right person”. I have one more year here, it seems long but it will soon end. By the time I’m back from Korea, guess I’ll have less than a year to stay. So scary when think about it.

Anyway, 2012 is coming real soon!

Moscato Nights

Posted on December 28, 2011December 30, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on Moscato Nights

Had moscato nights since after exam.

First, it was on 10th Dec. SF gave WM and I a bottle of Oliver’s Taranga Small Batch Wines 2011 Moscato before she went back to Malaysia. Both WM and I decided to have it before WM catch the very early morning flight back to Malaysia. She stayed over at my place. We celebrated the end of exam.

We started to drink around 12am. One bottle, two girls shared. We thought we couldn’t finish the bottle in a night but apparently it’s not that much.

Then, at around 2am, another two friends came to my apartment after attending their friend’s bucks night. Frankly, I really enjoyed the night especially with someone who had showered me with all the affections I need but at the same time, he confused me heaps! I guess it was all due to the influence of alcohol he drank earlier on before coming over. It’s hard to know whether it’s real or otherwise. I didn’t dare to inquire about the actions when we met few days later for lunch because it might be embarassing or might give him a hard time since he might not remember about it. If I asked, it might feel like I’m attacking him instead I told him he was annoying when he asked me whether he’s funny or not that night -.-” how silly can I be?!?! I made thing worst!

Then, few days after that, again, I guess my acts turned him off when he paid me a visit sigh… I wasn’t feeling well and I didn’t know how to tell him because I’m not good at that. I’m “trained” all these years to be strong, be independent and not to bombard someone I like/love with negative things because I don’t want them to worry about me due to the type of relationships I had previously. I pretended that I’m okay but ended up as if I’m giving him a cold shoulder the whole night. I really do know how to screw things up. Then again, I do have some suspicions as well. I have this feelings that he might not be single but I never asked. It’s so confusing really… Oh well… After the visit few days ago, I guess it’s over… Time to move on?

The second round, it was on 22/12, it was winter solstice but another girl friend and I drank for Christmas *LOL* I didn’t know my friend wanted to drink because of Christmas instead of winter solstice ;p All these while I thought it was for winter solstice. Apparent she didn’t know it was winter solstice that day.

She bought a bottle of Gossips Moscato Sweet Lips, double brie cheese, avocado, and water crackers. I love the cheese! Found my favourite cheese. YUM! Too bad I don’t remember or take note of the brand of the cheese. All I know is that it’s quite expensive, AUD40+ per 1kg (it was on special). The moscato was very SWEET but surprising cheap! Only AUD5.99 for 750ml! Alcohol here is much cheaper than other drinks here.

There you go… Two moscato nights with the girls.

My Yen Chinese Restaurant

Posted on December 26, 2011December 28, 2011 By sweet surrender No Comments on My Yen Chinese Restaurant

Had a farewell/graduation dinner with those from my workplace and their families about a week ago. We had it at My Yen Chinese Restaurant loacted at 74 Belair Road, Hawthorn. It’s one of the oldest Chinese restaurants in Adelaide. I took a bus there, almost missed the stop. Really hate taking public transport even though the system here is good. I’m such a spoil brat ;p

I have no idea what the actual food we had, just let you see the photos hehehe…

It was such a BIG dinner! We have 12-course meal! Surprisingly our table cleared most of the plates but not the other tables hehehe… We’re such big eater. There’s a plate of cracker (not sure is it prawn crackers, could be) for you to savour before waiting for the food to be served. It’s kind of tasteless.

Left: Steam oyster with ginger & shallots.
Right: Salt & pepper squid with shredded chicken meat.

Left: Hun siu chicken shark fin soup.
Right: I’m not sure what’s this hahaha… I heard there’s abalone in there. *shrug* I only know there’s mushroom and green vegetable. I’m not familiar with all these rich people food such as abalone, lobster, shark fin, bird nest, and so on and so forth *LOL*. I don’t eat these back home and never dream of eating them unless it’s served in a dinner banquet. We don’t buy these stuffs to eat at home.

Left: Lobster with noodle with ginger & shallot, love this! My first time having lobster too.
Right: Pei pa duck.

King prawn with macadamia nuts & snow peas and Seafood fried rice.

Left: Steam coral trout with ginger & shallot.
Right: Roast chicken with num yu sauce.

Left: Red bean soup, extremely sweet but it tastes good because haven’t have one for soooo looooong…
Right: Red wine… I don’t like it. It took me whole night to finish half glass of red wine and stained my lips badly -.-” I prefer white wine but will avoid drinking any alcohol if possible.

What a night! So much food! Also, so much rich-people-food in a night ;p Overall, the food was great.
